Oct 30, 2012 - By counting calorie consumption with MyFitnessPal, which is automatically offset against Fitbit exercise offers a comprehensive management regime for weight loss.

The problem with the Fitbit Zip itself is that once you start reaping the benefits of its step-tracking, you begin to miss the functions it leaves out, like stair counting and sleep monitoring.

While not essential to a Fitbit-driven exercise program, having the most comprehensive information offers the best level of accountability to drive weight loss.

Oct 4, 2012 - WIRED Tap-to-view stats are wonderful and motivating. Goals and badges give you something to work towards. Syncs better than the kitchen section at Home Depot. Comes in multiple colors so you can express your individuality in one of five ways.

TIRED You snooze, you lose: This Fitbit doesn’t do sleep tracking. You are so going to lose this sucker harder than a Pac 12 team playing in an SEC home game.

Sep 28, 2012 - This basic version of the Fitbit fitness tracker won't tell you how well you've slept, and can't track your performance on a Stairmaster. But if you just need a device that will track your steps and calories burned, and can sync wirelessly with Fitbit's website and smartphone apps, the Zip is a good choice at a great price. If you want something more advanced, consider the gdgt Must-have Fitbit Ultra -- or wait for the Fitbit One, due out next month.
